This time we want to recommend you to spend some days in Merida and among the great attractions you will find in this ancient and amazing place, there is the Video Mapping night shows.

This night show allows you to know a bit more about the history of Yucatan, through a ride to 3 emblematic buildings of this colonial-like paradise: Casa Montejo, San Ildefonso Cathedral and the Monumento a la Patria. They take place in different days, at the same hour so you can enjoy them all.

Video mapping in Casa Montejo, Merida

In the façade of Casa Montejo, you will see “Dialogues with the Conqueror” (Diálogos con el Conquistador), every Wednesday at 8:30, telling the story of the fusion of two cultures and the family of the conqueror of Yucatan, Francisco de Montejo. The show is not only about video mapping for there are also live performances with actors acting out the dialogue between the conqueror and the conquered, and the Merida’s Council Folkloric Ballet dancing. Duration: 45 min.

Piedras Sagradas video mapping, Merida

The second video mapping presentation is that of San Ildefonso Cathedral, where you will see the show “Piedras Sagradas” (Sacred Stones), giving a glance of the history and construction of some of the most important buildings downtown Merida, and also depicting the history of the Maya people, all of this accompanied by music and by the choir of Merida. It takes place every Friday, at 8:30 pm. Duration: 30 min.

Also, at San Ildefonso Cathedral, you will also be able to see another video mapping show called “Pok Ta Pok, Mayan Ball Game”, whith takes place every Saturday, at 8:30 pm.

Monumento a la Patria video mapping show, Merida

The last but not the least, takes place in the Monumento a la Patria. It is a light show that emphasizes the details of this monument, built by the sculpture Rómulo Rozo. Duration: approximately 16 min.
